Episode 18 of FM Module focuses on skin, or on sensitivity to be exact. Or, to be as precise as possible, it focuses on the boundaries of our consciousness. The organic shell which divides us from the world and also connects us to it is apparently a display of the discrete nature of existence. The transitional phase from the external to the internal, from an object to its projections, from the personal to the environmental (and vice versa) has always given food for thought to philosophers — from Empedocles to Simondon. Yet can we identify that phase and its boundaries? Even if consciousness is born from the touch to the world, that link easily twists into a loop of endless reflections.
