NASA APOLLO ERA SPACESUIT MOBILITY TEST & SIMULATED ZERO-G REPAIR TASK XD47064

Want to support this channel and help us preserve old films? Visit Visit our website This (somewhat water damaged) NASA footage likely dates to the Apollo Program era. It shows a test subject wearing a prototype spacesuit and helmet performing a simulated repair task. Interestingly, the subject is wearing a space helmet that appears to have a 16mm motion picture camera or a magnifying device attached to it. This could also possibly be a solid state dynamic respiration measuring device; a device of this type was developed for NASA in 1964. It’s not clear when this footage was shot or the precise nature of the simulated task. We encourage viewers to add comments and, especially, to provide additional information about our videos by adding a comment! See something interesting? Tell people what it is and what they can see by writing something for example: “01:00:12:00 -- President Roosevelt is seen meeting with Winston Churchill at the Quebec Conference.“ This film is part of the Periscope Film LLC archive, one of the largest historic military, transportation, and aviation stock footage collections in the USA.
