OM Namah Shivay ॐ नमः शिवाय
(full song 15’ here: )
“Om Namah Shivay“ is one of the most powerful mantras from the ancient Sanatan Dharma. “Na-Ma Shi-Va-Ya” are called panchaksharas or five syllables. – Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Space - corresponding to the five main centers in the human system. The Mantra leads the mind to silence, where one can access Shiva: consciousness, strength, stillness. A mantra that purifies our system and helps bring meditativeness.
Shiva is that nothingness, the dark empty void of space, from which all creation – the stars, planets, galaxies, mountains, oceans, all living beings, etc. – manifests and into which all creation disintegrates.
Om Namah Shivay, known as the “Maha Mantra” is a very powerful arrangement of sounds which forms an integral part of an earnest practitioner’s sadhana and a devotee of the greatest Shiva.
This mantra is specially suited for Mantra-listening-meditation. The track has 108 mantra repetitions and is 15 min long (on this video only 3 min are played.)
The Mantra removes negative energy, helps to relax and unwind. It helps to gain control over the senses. It gives a sense of direction and purpose in life. There are nine planets and 27 constellations. Since the Shiva Tattva is the presiding energy and governs the planets as well, chanting Om Namah Shivay can help nullify the effects of malefic planets to a certain extent. It calls the energy of Shiva, who is the Greatest, who is All.
How to chant Om Namah Shivay:
Ideally after taking a bath in the morning when you offer your prayers.
The best time to chant Om Namah Shivay is during sunrise and sunset. It can be chanted either aloud or in your mind silently, or listening to a good recording (as in Mantra, its energization is very important, I advise to choose recordings from India as they know how to present Mantra correctly in pronunciation and vibration as they have gone thru the necessary and accurate lifetime learning.) Om Namah Shivaya 108 times in succession leads to the best experience.
Available on Spotify, itunes, amazon-music, bandcamp, etc.
