Gang leader seeks to oust Haitian Prime Minister

A gang leader has called for the ousting of Haiti’s prime minister Ariel Henry, whose whereabouts is still unknown as of Monday, three days after he signed a bilateral accord in Kenya to pave the way for a possible multinational force to help restore order in Haiti. According to the UN, gangs now control 80% of the capital Port-au-Prince. The government has declared a state of emergency and a nighttime curfew from 6 pm to 5 am to try to regain control of the situation after thousands of inmates escaped from the capital’s central prison.
