A timelapse from the International Space Station shows the moon setting among red and green auroras.
The Northern Lights could be seen as far south as Devon and Cornwall at the end of Britain’s hottest day of the year.
The colourful auroral display was visible across the UK on Monday night thanks to clear skies after temperatures reached record levels during the day.
The rare phenomenon saw swathes of the sky turn pink and green over southern areas such as Mudeford Sandbank in Bournemouth, as well as across south-west England.
