Donald Trump has compared being grazed in the ear by a bullet to being attacked by the “world’s largest mosquito” in a leaked call to his presidential rival, Robert F Kennedy. Mr Kennedy’s campaign press secretary Stefanie Spear confirmed the two men spoke on Monday “to discuss national unity”. In leaked footage of the phone call, Trump told the independent candidate for president that he was shot by “a pretty tough gun”. It followed an attempt on the former president’s life at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday which left him with a bloody ear and killed a spectator.
