Vertical Hair Factory The members of the band are Tuple Salmela (vocals), Timo Tex Turpeinen (guitar), Mika Laine (guitar), Ilpo Kuhlman (bass), and Hannu Nenonen (drums). Tex composed the music and Ilpo was in charge of the lyrics. The history of the band starts in the mid-1990s when Pecu Cinnari was the drummer of the first line up. The first line up of Vertical Hair Factory made their own five songs in the 1990s and also rehearsed a set with cover songs. They performed one gig in Kuopio at Hotel Martina’s nightclub. After that, the fellas parted on their own ways with other projects in mind. The band was living a quiet life until the spring of 2017 when they decided to record their old songs which led to the project expanding into a full album. Drummer Kai Vainionpää recorded the older songs from the 1990s, and when the recording of the new songs started in 2019 Hannu Nenonen replaced him.
