3 Days Solo Wild Camp and Hike up North in Rain and High Winds
Not so much Bushcraft this time but more hiking. Love doing trips like this and its been years. 15 hours drive up north. A totally desolate area and because there are no trails you are guaranteed to be all alone. Hard to get to. 2 hours on a dirt road the last 70 km. Forecast said sunny and warm, then a day of rain and then sunny and warm again. The “sunny and warm again“ never came but instead temps close to freezing and never ending rain and wind. So I had to cut the trip short a day because I carried mostly summer gear. Kinda bummer to haul fishing gear and a drone and never get to use them :). Never reached a lake system I was aiming for. But that is life up north. Unpredictable and sometimes no way to get information from the outside because totally off grid. I didn’t even get something on my small radio but static noise. A bit.. uneasy for a southerner like me but also there is charm in this. Im just not used to it. When I got out and saw the weather forecast I’m glad I got out. I will
