Can tortoises really SWIM?

Mayo, my Red-footed tortoise exercising/swimming in our pond. Note: Tortoises cannot breathe underwater, so never leave your tortoise in the water unsupervised. If you want your tortoise to have exercise through swimming, make sure you are there to watch him to avoid drowning.
