Japan in 8K- Toyohashi Gion Festival- 吉田神社手筒花火神前放揚

Tezutsu Hanabi (hand-held fireworks) is said to have originated in Toyohashi. Tezutsu Hanabi is made of a bamboo and straw rope filled with gun powder in an amount ranging from 1600g-4000g. On the third Friday of July, Yoshida Temple hosts the Jinzen Hoyo (神前放揚) , a ceremony that literally means “launching the fireworks in the presence of God”. The men light off the fireworks while holding the bamboo and pray for the perfect health of all. To prevent the spread of COVID 19, the ceremony was held without spectators this year.
