Diabetic and Charcot foot

- The FRCS mentor group is hosting a teaching session on Diabetic and Charcot foot with Abdullah Hanoun as the presenter. - The presentation is relevant to clinical sections and could come in the exam, with a lot of interconnectivity between Diabetic and Charcot foot. - Diabetic foot is becoming increasingly prevalent and can result in ulcers and amputations. Neuropathy and vascular components are the main causes. - The assessment of a diabetic patient with a foot ulcer should be done with an MDT approach, assessing diabetic control, ulcer infection, vascularity, and neurology. - The assessment should also include ulcer classification to determine the severity and the possibility of referral to a plastic surgeon. This teaching video is specifically helpful for candidates preparing for the following Orthopaedic Exams : FRCS , European Board (FEBOT) , SICOT Diploma and Arabic Boards
