Pro-Palestinian demonstrators occupied the lobby of The New York Times over the war in Gaza. The protesters alleged media bias towards Israel in its coverage of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. They scattered mock newspapers with the title ’The New York Crimes’ on the floor. Activists even read out the names of thousands of Palestinians, including journalists, killed in Gaza. The protest was led by a group of media activists called the ’writers bloc’. The protesters demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Thousands carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans against Israel’s bombardments on Gaza as they marched through Midtown Manhattan.
