One Of Our Deleted Albums Series Scott Joplin (1868-1917) was one of most influential composers of ragtime music for piano. In 1971-72 Nonesuch Records released a series of albums featuring pianist Joshua Rifkin performing Scott Joplin compositions. This is Volume 2 of that series, released in 1972, as Nonesuch Records catalogue number H-21764. Following the renewed popularity of Scott Joplin’s music after its use in the Paul Newman/Robert Redford movie The Sting in 1973, these Joshua Riflin records became popular sellers.
