On this day in 1966, President Lyndon Johnson revealed that war troops should stay in Vietnam. Here is a British Movietone report showing the US aircraft carrier “Enterprise“ operating in the China Sea. The American Carrier “Enterprise“, the largest warship in the world, had been operating in the China Sea until President Lyndon B Johnson ordered a cease-fire on Christmas Eve. The Viet Cong also offer a similar truce to the South Vietnamese - a cease-fire during the Vietnamese New Year in January.
