Hello everyone! This week I sang Stacy’s Mom/Dad by Fountains Of Wayne! If you frequent my livestreams, I’m sure you are no stranger to this song. I’ve been meaning to record it for months now so it’s nice to finally have it off the backburner. If you have no idea what this is, don’t sweat it! A lil’ jazz cover never hurt anyone. I really, really, really love the Postmodern Jukebox cover of Stacy’s Mom but I’ve always been so intrigued by the concept of Stacy’s Dad, and seeing as it didn’t exist, I knew it was my job to make it happen. My friends and I piled into a call a little over a year ago to write these lyrics. We wanted to make sure these lyrics weren’t creepy or gross (because that’s just yucky and does not spark joy) so I’d like to imagine that this is from the perspective of Stacy’s best friend who she’s known since elementary school and now they’re both 23.
