Iran claims strikes on ‘Israeli espionage HQ’ close to US consulate in Iraqi city
Iran has claimed responsibility for attacks on what it calls an Israeli “espionage headquarters“ in the city of Erbil, Iraq.
The attack, which took place simultaneously with another offensive in Syria, purportedly against Isis, was carried out of the Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).
The strikes landed close to the US consulate in the city, which is the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan.
