The Fletcher Capstan expanding table has always intrigued me in terms of its mechanical complexity and elegant motions of all the interacting parts. This is my take at deciphering the mechanism and re-creating it in a smaller scaled 3D printed model. It is a simplified version of the original mechanism, which I was unfortunately unable to implement due to scaling issues.
