11 S. Koreans evacuated from Haiti via helicopter amid surge in gang violence

The foreign ministry said on Tuesday that the South Korean nationals were airlifted to the neighboring Dominican Republic via helicopter the day before. It added that there are currently around 60 South Koreans still in Haiti, and that the government has been checking on their safety with an emergency helpline. Last month, the South Korean government evacuated two citizens from Haiti, as the security situation worsened.
