Relay Takes Earth From Battlefields To Prague (1947)

Unissued / unused footage - dates and locations may be unclear / unknown. Czechoslovakia. At a ceremony on a former battlefield, earth taken from famous battlefields, is handed by Russian soldiers to representatives of the Czech army. The Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Kornejcov hands the earth, in long tubes, to General Kuna of the Czech army. Several shots of the tubes being taken across countryside and through towns by relay runners - young men and small boys. Soldiers do part of the run, seems to be around a war cemetery and / or memorial - could be Presov? Soldiers on motorbikes and horseback do part of the run. At night we see the Red Army memorial in Smichov. A procession of flag and torch bearers lead a Russian tank to the city square.
