Software used:
Numerical experiment shows flow past a circular cylinder at Re=140 (computed by diameter). Classical Karman vortex street is present.
Results are being compared to famous picture from Van Dyke’s album of fluid motion.
Black dots represent streaklines (ink), shed from the cyl surface. Blue and red are for vorticity fields. Blue = negative (anticlockwise), red = positive(clockwise).
Computation performed using method of viscous vortex domains (VVD)
