24 Hours in Kazan, Tatarstan!

Today we visit Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation. Although excavations show that a settlement was present in the year 1005 A.D., the city was founded by the Golden Horde in the late 13th century, and later captured by Ivan the Terrible in 1552. Today the city is an economic and cultural powerhouse. It is rapidly modernizing, with a focus on community, family values, and quality of life for its residents. On our first day in Kazan, my friend Nikita and I visit the Kremlin, the stunning Qul Sharif Mosque, and a beautiful Russian Orthodox Church. We try several traditional Tatar foods throughout the video including Chak-Chak and Echpochmak. We also visit Black Lake Park and head up the belltower to get better view of the vibrant city. Thanks for watching our first 24 hours in Kazan, Tatarstan! More videos coming soon.
