Tips & Tricks is a video tutorial series designed to progress any player’s technique, whether they be a kendama recruit or veteran. Spike: For the spike you’re going to want to grip the ken with your tumb directly under the big cup. Keep your eye on the little hole (string hole) at the top of the ball, since that is an indicator of where the big hole is (directly under) Make sure you pull it straight up, and slide the spike/your thumb right under the hole to spike it.
