Novelties - New Year Saving Device (1927)

No title. A chopping device is demonstrated. A glass device with a metal handle is put over a tomato (? or some other food item). When the handle is pushed down, the vegetable is chopped. A second invention is shown - “The pram - screen“ which protects baby from sudden showers. C/U of a baby in a beautiful old pram. Mother pulls a screen down and attaches it to the front of the pram. C/U of the grumpy baby looking out of a plastic window in the screen. Mother pushes the pram along the pavement - nice shot. Mother takes the screen down and puts the top of the pram down as the sun comes out. Another cute idea is a pen with a compartment at the top for keeping stamps inside. C/U of hands rolling the stamps up then putting the lid on the compartment with the stamps inside. M/S of woman at a table writing a letter. She turns the body of the pen and a stamp comes out. She wets the stamp on a damp sponge and fixes it to the letter. Good 1920s gadgets. Was item in Eve’s Film Review 301
