when it rains it pours: highwater descent on the South Yuba

So yesterday we went into the South Yuba river which is a well known and often kayaked run near Auburn, California. Normally people go in there up to 2,000 CFS. After three days of heavy storms the gauge was running at around 4500-4000 CFS and we decided to give it a try to see whether we would be able to make it down this run at highwater stage.
