Taal Volcano Eruption Update; Mandatory Evacuations Issued, Explosive Eruption Likely

The Taal Volcano started a new eruption on July 1st, 2021. What occurred so far was a relatively small volcanic explosion which ejected small amounts of lava and generated pyroclastic flows. However, the eruption is not over, and a much larger series of explosions is expected. As a result, mandatory evacuations have been issued.
