J.S. Bach: Jesu, joy of man’s desiring BWV 147 (P. Bardon)
Jesus bleibet meine Freude (from Cantata “Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben“ BWV 147) by Johann Sebastian Bach and transcribed for organ by Maurice Duruflé, played by the legendary organist Pierre Bardon, 83 years old, on the historical organ built by Jean-Esprit and Joseph Isnard at the Basilique Sainte-Marie-Madeleine in Saint Maximin la Sainte Baume.
The video was recorded on February 4th, during the celebration of the 57th anniversary of the “titularity“ by Pierre Bardon. Moreover it is the very first time that the organ was recorded after Quoirin restoration (2017-2018). Please apologize for the humming, but... it was the mass :)
