Putin signs long-term co-operation agreement with Mongolia, following similar agreements with North Korea and Vietnam in June, restoring Soviet era alliances The agreement includes investment in power plants, aviation fuel, weapons supplies, and troop training. The trade almost entirely excludes use of the dollar and the euro. Russian pipelines will go through Mongolia and Vladivostok to China and then to Vietnam and North Korea. Putin also invited the head of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, to Russia for the BRICS Summit in Kazan next month and the 80th Victory Day celebration in May 2025. Chinese Vice President Han Zheng will visit Russia and Mongolia between September 4-8 and take part in the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia.
