Advancing with Watercolor: on location - NYC “The Vendors of Central Park“

This video was done after a week of plein air painting with watercolor in New York City. It is part of a series of videos featuring Central Park, Bryant Park, Times Square, and Dumbo park at the Brooklyn Bridge. The workshop lasted six days and each day was a new adventure . In this video I in this video I have selected the motive of vendors in Central Park and shown how I constructed the painting to emphasize figures and vendors along I main road in central park. This is a longer video and I attempt to describe some of the reasons that I enjoy playing air painting and feel it is an important practice for every artist. I talk a lot about the use of the brush the quality of the brush about the design of the painting and using a compositional stem, as well as other aspects of working on location. One of the few videos that show the brush work in real time. In each video I will address some of the challenges with each motive and ways to meet those challenges.
