More than 100,000 migrants have illegally crossed the Channel in boats

Today’s total of 100,000 illegal Channel crossings is a landmark. Criminals are making fools of us. Billions are being spent on accommodation. The waiting list is twice the size of the British army. It seems the weather is better able to defend our borders than the Border Force. Our asylum system is overwhelmed. It is now essential that we amend the Human Rights Act so that it is the British government which has the final word on who can enter and who can stay in the UK.
