Pacific Coast Highway - Burt Bacharach

Photos from the west coast of California along highway 101. Music (1969) by Burt Bacharach. Burt was inspired to write this piece when he traveled this stretch of “America’s Highway“ in his Corvette. Sorry, didn’t find that out until after I’d made this or I would have put a Corvette in one of the slides. I always found this to be a catchy tune and I’m a big Bacharach fan. Arguably not one of his more notable songs, probably precisely because it’s not a song and that was what he was known for. I’m very surprised this wasn’t used in a movie soundtrack along the way. Still a great piece that very much imbues the mood of being in the open air of a convertible cruising along this spectacular highway.
