BBC 2 Ecstasy & Shelley’s Laserdome Rave Documentary 1993

Originally televised in 1993. Examines Ecstasy use and rave culture and includes footage of the Police’s Operation Patriot which focused on the activities at the legendary Shelley’s nightclub in Longton, Stoke. Programme examines the views of the clubs management, Ecstasy users and law enforcement. Documentary attempts to place rave culture and Ecstasy use in a socio-historical context and includes a discussion on the possible long term medical effects associated with Ecstasy use.
