King Charles Expected at Trooping the Colour - Could Princess Kate Join Him?

The King is set on attending this year’s Trooping the Colour, his official birthday celebration, if his health allows it. Staff are already looking into options for how King Charles could participate while managing his ongoing cancer treatment. This might involve the King watching the military event from a podium instead of his usual horseback position. In the traditional ceremony, the monarch typically rides horseback from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade via The Mall to inspect the troops. The King announced his cancer diagnosis on February 5, and although he is thought to be doing well he may have to be driven in a carriage or watch the military spectacle from a podium rather than on horseback. A definite decision won’t be made until closer to the event due to the King’s condition, and it will rely on medical advice.
