New Putin calendars fail to impress Moscow shoppers

(8 Nov 2017) New calendars depicting the Russian President Vladimir Putin aren’t in big demand, according to some of Moscow’s newspaper vendors. Elena Lebedieva, who has been selling newspapers and magazines for 20 years, says “many“ people are unhappy with the latest calendars, although others ask questions and laugh about it. She has different types of calendars at her kiosk in Moscow - including ’Fishing with the President’, which depicts bare-chested fishing, and ’Year with the President’, which has highlights from the previous year. One passer-by described it as an “idiotic design“, while another said he wasn’t interested at all.
