Titles read: “Now Pathetone has pleasure in presenting - The famous American Variety Star - VIC OLIVER“. London (probably Pathe studio). Variety star / comedian Vic Oliver walks onto the set and tells a joke about English hotel rooms, then says he got back to his room last night and found a “big blonde girl“ in there. He was so angry he told her “I don’t know who you are but I’ll give you just 24 hours to get out of my room!“ Vic says he is going to play something on the violin for us, saying he is known as America’s foremost exponent of the cat gut, and asks for someone to lend him one. No one comes forward - Vic says “Death takes a holiday!“. He then starts to sing ’O Sole Mio’ very badly, and a man comes on and hands him a violin. He introduces a number that he wrote himself after hearing it only four times, and says it is called ’I Don’t Have To Look At The World Through Rose-coloured Glasses, Because My Eyes Are Naturally Bloodshot’.
