Beketovskaya is a railway station of the Volgograd region of the Volga Railway, located 17 kilometers from the Volgograd-I station. Located in the Kirovsky district of the city of Volgograd. The one-story brick building was built in the late 19th - early 20th century (according to some sources, in 1896). The station building, as well as service buildings and residential buildings at the station, is an architectural monument of regional significance. The construction of the Tikhoretskaya branch of the Vladikavkaz railway and station took place in the 1890s. Construction work proceeded quickly. Already on December 15, 1896, working trains started running on the Velikoknyazheskaya - Elshanka section, and from October 15, 1897, regular traffic was opened here. The Elshanka-Tsaritsyn section was launched on December 2, 1897, and after the construction of the viaduct across the Tsaritsa on July 1, 1899, the entire line with a total length of 502 versts was officially recognized as built. At a distance of 10 miles from the station there were two large villages. Volost center Otrada, the former estate of the famous nobleman Nikita Beketov in the 18th century. On the other side of the gully of the Elshanka River (perhaps now it is Kapustnaya gully) was the settlement of Beketovka. Before the construction of the railway, there was only one woodworking plant near the station. In 1910, 9 enterprises were already operating near the station. The following year, their number increased to 14. According to data for 1915, 15 sawmills and 19 timber warehouses were already operating at the station.
