Vichnaya Pamyat (Eternal Memory) from Chernobyl arranged for Brass Ensemble

On 24 February 2022, the Russian army invaded the nation of Ukraine escalating a conflict between the independent nation of Ukraine and Russia. This conflict has deeply impacted the world and has led to the loss of many innocent lives, the displacement of Ukrainian citizens, and many other atrocities against the Ukrainian people. Vichnaya Pamyat is a traditional Ukrainian hymn recited at Orthodox masses across Ukraine which translates into “Memory Eternal“ and is recited in remembrance of those who have lost their lives and passed away. This performance is dedicated to the people of Ukraine and all who have lost their lives at the hands of the Russian aggression. This performance of Vichnaya Pamyat was put together by a handful of students at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin in order to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine to show that even across the globe the world supports the people of Ukraine. Everyone in this video participated on their own free will and were not paid or received any commission for their performance. We hope you enjoy this performance of Vichnaya Pamyat written by Hildur Guðnadóttir and performed by students at the University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music.
