A Day on the New River.

On the last full day of our vacation, Carole and I rented a tandem kayak and paddled down the New River. Unlike its West Virginia sections, the portions of the New River in Virginia (and in North Carolina) have long sections of flatwater. Great for relaxing, but not very exciting. This part of the river also has almost all private property along both banks, so it’s hard to find a spot to stop and get out without knowing if you’re trespassing.
