A small infrasonic wave was also observed. The volcano is located near the city of Kagoshima, with a population of about 600,000 people, and the locals experienced a sense of unease. Volcanic ash was blown southeast of the crater. A small amount of ash is expected to fall by 5:00 am on the cities of Tarumizu, Kanoya, Kinko, Osaka, Shibushi and Higashikushira.
