’Sarabande’ by Paul Cutlan - performed by Jennifer Eriksson
’Sarabande’, composed by Paul Cutlan, is part of The Marais Project’s ’Two’ project.
’Two’ brings together the renowned talents of Marais Project founding members, Jennifer Eriksson, viola da gamba, and Tommie Andersson, gallichon, theorbo and baroque guitar, in a seldom heard way. Each plays alternate brackets of solos on their respective instruments before embarking on a joint performance of a splendid suite by Marin Marais. Guest artist, Susie Bishop voice and violin, joins them for a gorgeous encore.
’Sarabande’ was originally a movement from Paul Cutlan’s suite for viola da gamba and harpsichord, called ’Spinning Forth’ which is released on The Marais Project’s recording also titled, ’Spinning Forth.’ The suite can be heard on Spotify here -
’Two’ is available as a hard copy CD on the Move Records lable, download or streaming on major platforms.
