Familiar alien drawn by a hand-cranked Automaton (writing machine) made using LEGO

A hand-cranked Automaton made using LEGO that has been programmed to draw a familiar little alien. It has no computers, motors, or electronics. Just hand-cranked gear-work. It uses 5 different chains of 133 links each to encode the message. Wide links are a ’do nothing’ while a narrow link means ’move the pen’. Two chains cooperate to move the pen left and write. Two other chains cooperate to move the paper forward/backwards. The final chain raises and lowers the pen as required. See mor
