Drone footage captured the devastation left behind by the Greece wildfires as the village of Platanos, close to the ancient Olympic site, woke up to the aftermath of the flames on Friday. “We stayed here to save our properties. There wasn’t a single firefighting vehicle here. We were all on our own,“ said Panos Drinas, a resident of Platanos. “Olive trees, orange trees and properties were burned. There is not a single green tree branch left around here.“ The devastated landscape, along with burned churches and homes can be seen as a result of the wildfires that have been raging across the region in recent days.
