Cliff Richard (born as Harry Rodger Webb, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, October 14, 1940) is an English singer and actor. Since he was knighted in 1995, Cliff Richard, originally an artist name, has also been his official name.
Harry Webb was born in Lucknow in India and chose his stage name in 1958. His first song ‘Move It’ was actually the b-side of a cover namely the song Schoolboy crush, but Radio Luxemburg chose this side and it came in #2 in the British charts list. He had a string of hits in the 1960’s. He represented the United Kingdom twice at the Eurovision Song Contest with the songs ‘Congratulations’ in 1968 and ‘Power To All Our Friends’ in 1973, placing him in second and third place respectively.
In 1999, he scored his last number 1 hit in England with ‘The Millennium Prayer’.
He was in the Dutch charts in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s.
He scored 31 hits in the Dutch Top 40.
This song ‘Baby You’re Dynamite was recorded in 1984 by Toppop.
