SOFLES | LEGO

This video shows a large scale spray paint portrait of Marilyn Monroe being painted on a 3m x 4m aluminium canvas with finishing touches added with LEGO Art bricks. The Artwork was then hung at the Brisbane Powerhouse for the launch of LEGO Art. The portrait was painted over two days, then a further five days was needed to assemble and attach the 50,000 LEGO bricks. The original plan was to make the artwork completely from LEGO but only limited colours and bricks were available due to Covid, so a painted piece complimented with LEGO add ons was the chosen direction. The Marilyn Monroe image was used to create a 2020 version of the Andy Warhol classic print (which is the image used for one of the LEGO Art kits). Big thanks to LEGO for the opportunity and my friends and family for helping make it happen. THIS PAINTING IS FOR SALE, IF INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT info@, serious enquiries only.
