Tube Vent Cleaners (1950)

Piccadilly, London. Brief shot of Piccadilly Circus at night. Good M/S of a policeman walking around the ticket hall of Piccadilly Circus tube station. One of the concrete slabs on the ground is moved and a man, Mr Bloomfield, covered in dust and wearing a face respirator appears from under it. Commentator explains the man is one of a team of six men who work in non-traffic hours to clean out the ventilation plants in the London Underground system. We see him crawling through vent systems, cleaning the greasy dust out with a brush and hear that there are large amounts of human hair in some parts of the vents - yuck!
