Barn Owl Screaming

Charlie Muise, Georgia’s Important Bird Areas Coordinator through the National Audubon Society, has been helping the Athens/Clarke County landfill manage a pair of barn owls on their property. We set up two barn owl boxes for the landfill after the owls set up residence in a bad location and lost their chicks last year. We were checking on the boxes today and were excited to find this female incubating two eggs! We have banded, measured, and released her. The barn owl is a declining species in Georgia.
