Motor Cycling’s ’Grand National’ 50 start - only six finish - ’Velvet Walk’ - ’Stops ’em & Wets ’em’ - ’Mudgate Hill’ - & ’Pull an’ Push’ obstacles - taking heavy toll after overnight rains.“ Ilkley, Yorkshire. Motorcycle trials - a series of men ride motorbikes through a pool of water. Riders attempt another watery obstacle - the first rider doesn’t make it and steam comes out from his bike. He manages to keep going. More shots of riders attempting various wet and muddy obstacles on their bikes. Nice shots of rider No. 38 as he goes past the camera. Riders have to get assistance to get through a particularly muddy piece of track. One BSA (British Small Arms) motorcycle gets really stuck in the mud and has to be lifted clear.
