Enshin Karate | Classic KOs & Knockdowns

In 1988, Joko Ninomiya split from the New International Karate Organisation to establish a school in America based on his own style, Enshin kaikan. This hybrid form of karate distinguishes itself through its use of grappling techniques and employment of the “Sabaki method“ - the transforming of defense into offense by using an opponent’s power and momentum against them. Since his school’s establishment, Ninomiya has hosted an open tournament designed to offer the truest test of karate skills in a full contact setting. At the time of this posting, the Sabaki Open has been held annually in Denver for over three decades. This video captures knockouts and knockdowns from the late 80s to the 90s.
