Happy May Day, comrades! :) “The Internationale“ is a left-wing anthem that has been translated into numerous languages and is widely recognized as the anthem of the socialist movement. The song was originally written in French in 1871 by the Belgian socialist Eugene Pottier, and was set to music by the French composer Pierre De Geyter. It quickly became popular among socialist and labor organizations, and was adopted by the international socialist movement as its official anthem in 1910. Today, it is still used as a rallying cry by labor unions, socialist parties, and other left-wing organizations around the world.
