Family of 85-Year-Old Woman Killed by Alligator Sues Neighborhood

An 85-year-old woman was killed by an alligator. Now the family is suing the retirement community she lived in. In February 2023, Gloria Serge was walking her dog behind her home in Ft. Pierce, Florida, when the gator attacked. Her ordeal was captured on a wildlife camera. Lawyers for the Serge family blame the development for not enforcing rules about not feeding the alligators and for failing to ask the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to remove the larger gators.
