This is a compilation of Mario Del Monaco (1915-1982) performances (likely 1950’s and/or 1960’s recordings) of operatic arias by Italian composers. Unfortunately there are no credits listed on the liner notes but since he was a principal tenor with New York’s Metropolitan Opera between 1932 and 1959 it is possible these recordings were made with the Metropolitan Opera during that period.
This CD is from a compilation released by a Canadian label called Distributions Madacy Inc., based in Quebec. I recently found this CD in the “Free CDs“ bin at a local second hand record store so I took it to put on the channel.
